NEW LOCATION
A DHN TEAM EVENT
(This event will be run by the DEAD HAUNTED NIGHTS TEAM of experts;
the only team Phil Whyman entrusts to run these events in his absence)
Dead Haunted Nights are pleased to announce their first investigation at what many believe to be the most haunted building in Oxfordshire; OXFORD CASTLE.
HISTORY
Oxford Castle - located in the heart of Oxford - dates back as far as 1071, with the original structure being made of wood and constructed by Robert D'Oyly (a Norman baron). Oxford castle has seen many violent and brutal times during it's long history, including being besieged by King Stephen for three months in the 1100's.
Oxford castle became the seat of the county government and courts, but by the 14th century the castle was in a state of bad disrepair.
In 1888 the castle became Oxford Prison, which occupied the location until 1996 when it was finally closed, the site being handed back to the county council.
It has since been converted into a Malmaison Hotel; the first prison in the UK to be so.
The prison has featured in several numerous TV series and films, including the 1969 'Italian Job' with Michael Caine, as well as a 'Fish called Wanda'. It was also used as the set for the series 'Bad Girls'.
Brad Pitt, Gerard Depardieu and Robert Redford have all filmed here.
GHOSTS AND HAUNTINGS
Many believe that Oxford Castle is one of the most haunted buildings in the UK, with paranormal activity reported on a regular basis.
THE HANGED LADY
Mary Bland was tried and executed at Oxford Castle in the mid 1700's. Her restless soul has been reported as being seen on a number of occasions, within the castle and grounds. With so many executions having taken place here, it would come as no surprise to find many more hanging victims still roaming the area.
DARK SHADOWS & FIGURES
There have been reports of figures - clad in very dark clothing - wandering around the castle and staff often refuse to wander certain areas of the castle alone.
They unexplained figures are often accompanied by a deep feeling of forboding, which seems to affect anyone sees them.Who are they? Nobody knows, but we will be trying to contact them on the night!
POLTERGEISTS IN THE CASTLE
Poltergeist activity would appear to be rife at the Oxford Castle, with many items being seen to move by their own volition. Some objects have even been damaged by these unseen mischief makers.
UNEXPLAINED NOISES
Unexplained noises are frequently heard resonating around the castle, including footsteps, knocking sounds and event what appears to be the sound of screaming.
OTHER REPORTED INCIDENTS
Strange light anomlies
Feelings of being watched
Cold spots
Unexplained mists

Testimonial
I have attended a couple of Dead Haunted Nights paranormal investigations and have to say they have been fantastic. The events are very well organised and professionaly carried out. Phil and the Dead Haunted Team are very friendly and down to earth. They take time to explain what the evening will involve and how to use the plethora of equipment that they have available for you to use.
Everything about DHN is fantastic, Phil, Sara and the team, Kev the medium, the locations, the organisation, the way the investigations are carried out, I can't praise them enough.
